If you need a universal solution to bad odours, the answer is baking soda. It is able to absorb smells from carpets and kitchen appliances, and is found in every store. If you leave a pack of baking soda open in the fridge, it will absorb the unpleasant odours from food stored there.

The following advice applies regardless of whether you use baking soda on your carpet. Every time you hoover your carpets and area rugs, open the windows to get some fresh air. Otherwise, the room may have a lingering smell of dust once you finish.

Do eco-friendly products remove carpet stains?
